A fusion of local and international ingredients lends a truly original flavor to our cuisine.
Breakfast starts with our own Hidden Valley Inn Coffee, which is grown and roasted on the property.
For lunch you can choose to take a picnic lunch or have it served in the dining
room. When the weather is fine we also offer outdoor dining on the pool terrace. The Inn also offers pool and for those needing to stay in touch, a satellite connection provides high speed internet access. Our generator provides 110-volt electricity between 6am and 10pm. There are 12 volt bedside lamps and bathroom lights to provide guests with lighting outside of generator hours. The absence of city lights once the generator is turned off makes the night in the Pine Ridge very dark and the millions of stars look extremely close and bright. |
| Hidden Valley Inn is situated amidst 7200 acres of private reserve. The Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve is the largest and oldest of Belizean parklands. The red earth and sandy terrain, Caribbean pines, granite outcroppings, tumbling waterfalls, huge limestone caves, and rolling open savanna grasslands, bordered by lush tropical rainforest, make the Reserve unique in Central America. The Inn is approximately a two hour drive from Belize City airport. |
|
| The property's two diverse ecosystems are divided by a huge geological fault line,
which marks the edge of a towering 1000 Foot escarpment. Tropical broadleaf jungle covers one third of the 7200 acre private reserve;
the remainder is predominantly Caribbean Pine consisting of pine savannah, in the process of regeneration after the explosion of the
bark beetle population; ravine flora and palm swamp. Both areas are populated with over 70 species of colorful and delicate orchids
and bromeliads, fuzzy-leafed melastomes, vivid "hot lips", and feathery ferns in many sizes from ancient looking tree ferns to low
growing club ferns. On the Hidden Valley property there are also cultivated areas of Arabica coffee trees, banana and plantain trees, macadamia trees, cacao trees, guava, and citrus as well as areas of pineapple, gingers and heliconias. |
