| Hey how are you? We had such a blast down there in Costa Rica. Waves were great, people were welcoming and the country is beautiful. You were of great assistance to us in booking the hotel at Backyard and helping us out with any other questions and information. | We had the BEST FAMILY VACATION! We LOVED both accommodations -- the Hotel Borinquen was beautiful; we did a horseback ride to the waterfalls on the property, and did their Canopy Zip Line Tour. We drove next door to the Buena Vista Villas to do their amazing water slide. Then, from another guest, we heard about rafting on individual inner tubes at Hacienda Guachipelin which we did and had a great time.
The Capitan Suizo was perfect!!! We loved being in a small hotel. The location on the beach was just right. We took suft lessons, went ATV-ing, and had plenty of relax time on the beach. The hotel staff was amazingly helpful and we loved having monkeys, iguanas, and racoons strolling through the property every day! Many thanks!! |

| We really enjoyed our trip!!! Our only suggestion would be to provide maps with more information for those who are driving in Costa Rica. As you know the roads are not signed well in areas and we did get "lost" a few brief times. But - other than that we really had a great time. The Selvatura Adventure Park was amazing! We also enjoyed the Tabacon Hot Springs in Fortuna. The accommodations were all very nice. [Arenal Springs, Belmar, Fuego del Sol]
We did have some problems with Mapache car rental at the end of the trip - we arrived back in San Jose and called them to let them know the car was at Irazu Hotel, but there was no answer and we left a message. We waited for over 2 hours for them to pick up the car, but they never came. We had to leave for the airport the next day very early - before their office opened. We tried once again to call them, but again no answer - just a message. We left the keys with the front desk of the hotel and another message on the Mapache answering machine. So - hopefully everything was ok. |

| We had a wonderful trip without any complications. There was a slight confusion at Laguna Lodge as they could not find our reservation but it was fixed immediately. The hotels/lodges expected individual vouchers but accepted our single page without difficulty.
Mapache rental car handled everything well. They were on time and the car was good. There was little room for luggage with 6 people but we did okay. I must mention our guide for Tortuguero – Carlos Mora (I am unsure of the spelling of his name). He was exceptional!!!!! He was so fluent in English that I was not sure which was his first language. He was extremely well educated and one of Costa Rica’s first 50 guides. His enthusiasm and knowledge was wonderful and he spent time with every guest. He even let our 8 year old son ride with him on the bus back. My son doesn’t talk to many people but talked to Carlos the entire time and Carlos was very welcoming. Our trip would not have been the same without him and we all feel extremely lucky to have met him. We might even hire him for a guided tour in the future all over the country. He is a gem and should make all Ticos proud! Our accommodations were all wonderful as was the staff. [Irazu, Arenal Observatory, Tulemar] It was a great trip.
