Cost Rica has some of the best sportfishing in the World and We can show you how to enjoy it. We here at North South Sportfishing have the know how and the equipment that will allow you to fish in some of the hottest waters in the world. We fish two different locations here on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica.

Sportfishing Costa Rica

The "Blue Marlin" is a 36' Custom sportfisher. It is equipped with the latest state of the art electronics including GPS's, and meeting all International safety marine regulations. Our crews are seasoned veterans and know you are here to fish, not to go for a boat ride. The "Blue Marlin" will fish up to 6 anglers in comfort. She is a real pleasure to fish off of.

The boat is equipped with 30, 50 and 80 - lb. class Penn International and Shimano tackle, spooled with Andy tournament green line. Also provided on board are lunches, soft drinks, beer, and bottled water.

Your captain and mate specialize in light tackle and fly fishing for Sailfish, Dorado and Tuna. If you wish to fly fish it will be necessary for you to bring your own fly equipment. There are back up fly rods on board.

The two locations we fish out of and the dates are:

QUEPOS: December to April

Protected from the winter winds and high seas typical of northern Costa Rica, during the months of January through May. We fish from the small fishing port of Quepos. These waters are famous to anglers around the world for the abundance of sails, marlins, dorado, tuna...and the list goes on and on. During this season it's a fishing bonanza only 45 minutes from the pier.

GULF OF PAPAGAYO: May to October
The gulf of Papagayo in northern Costa Rica offers during season some of the best fishing in Costa Rica...some of the best in the world. Offshore blue, black, striped marlin. Large schools of hungry sailfish make this area the site of one of the world's most popular and successful billfish tournaments. Great on light tackle, rooster, snapper, grouper, and jacks inshore. Included in your days' fishing.
We like to leave the pier at 7:00 a.m. and return at 4:00 in the afternoon. On board the world famous "Blue Marlin" you'll find everything you need...sandwiches, snacks, beer, soda, fresh fruits for lunch. Sorry, no hard liquor is allowed.
Gratuities, meals and open bar are not included. Just bring your luck and North South Sportfishing will take care of all the rest.

Written or verbal reservations will be held for one week.
A 40% deposit is required to confirm reservations, with balance of payment due 30 days upon arrival to your finish destination...
If a cancellation becomes necessary, please notify our office immediately.
