Tortuguero Canals - Visitors paddle their way through dense, primary rainforest in Tortuguero National Park. At first light, herons and kingfishers stare hungrily through their reflections into the water below; crocodiles and caimans drift out of the shadows to warm their blood, and high above, the monkeys scratch, stretch and begin to swing.
