| Drake's Bay is considered by many to be the place that enjoys all the best of what Costa Rica has to offer. Flocks of wild macaws swoop through the village, monkeys visit daily on the outskirts of the surrounding primary forest, and the crystal blue ocean bring dolphin and humpback whales just offshore. | |

Discovered by Sir Francis Drake in 1579, the area around Drake's Bay has remained relatively untouched due to its remote location on the north side of the wild Osa Penninsula. It is also home to the crown jewel of Costa Rica's National Park system, Corcovado, which has been called by National Geographic "as one of the most biologically diverse places on the planet." |
