The hotel—with bar, restaurant, 19 fully equipped and spacious suites, and a huge 400 square meter (1,300 square foot) pool—is situated in a 12 hectare (30-acre) garden area on a hill between the Pacific Ocean and a rainforest-covered mountain. Each room has breathtaking ocean views, and the area offers a wide range of outdoor activities.

The Suites - The Cristal Ballena offers 14 spacious, connectable suites and 5 master suites, all with balcony and outrageous ocean views. All rooms offer air conditioning plus ceiling fan, hot water, private bathroom, hair dryer, satellite television, telephone, refrigerator and security box.

Restaurant & Bar - Enjoy our buffet-style breakfast, included with your stay. Our café-style bar and restaurant "Pura Vida!", located at the swimming pool, features international and Costa Rican cuisine and serves a variety of refreshing cocktails and beverages.

Conferences and meetings - Our multipurpose meeting room accommodates groups up to 60 people, and can be used for a variety of activities, such as seminars, meetings, weddings and conferences.

How to get there - Taking the new Costanera Sur Highway, it is 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) south of Dominical and 7 kilometers (4 miles) south of Uvita. Daily 45-minute flights are available between San José and Palmar Sur via NatureAir and Sansa Airlines.

NOTE: A new government program to protect Corcovado National Park and Caño Island Biological Reserve limits the amount of visitors allowed. For high season it is important to book well in advance to guarantee access for tours to these areas.
