Tamarindo Vista Villas Hotel & Resort The hotel is built into a small hillside overlooking beautiful Tamarindo Bay and the Pacific Ocean. You are literally a five minute walk from the golden sands of Tamarindo Beach. There is a spectacular white-water ocean view from almost every room in the hotel.

Accommodations This small family-owned hotel offers seventeen lovely rooms and fifteen spacious, luxuriously appointed villas. Every villa comes with a fully equipped kitchen including: a coffee maker, toaster, microwave, refrigerator plus all the utensils and pots & pans. The villas have a private bedroom, living room, and either a patio or balcony. All villas are furnished with a tropical motif and with hand crafted furniture made from local hard woods. All villas and rooms are air-conditioned and have great views of the Tamarindo Bay and blue Pacific. You can relax and watch the waves majestically rolling onto the golden sands of Tamarindo beach.

All villas and rooms have a telephone with international access as well as a TV & VCR. The hotel has its own on-site video rental store - Pirate Video - complete with over 1000 classic and recent movies to choose from. For worry free protection of your valuables a safe is provided in all villas and most rooms at no additional charge.

Pool, Restaurant, Bar & Amenities The resort has a spectacular ocean view swimming pool complete with a beautiful waterfall and swim-up bar. Relax at the world renowned Monkey Bar where wild tropical potions flow freely to the sounds of the waves, the jungle & Latin rhythms.

The Secret Spot restaurant serves breakfast, lunch & dinner daily. It is located in the open air, directly by the pool & waterfall. Try the fresh fish caught daily from the Pacific and local fayre. There are over a dozen restaurants within a short walk from your villa including, Italian, French, Vegetarian Mexican and Costa Rican as well as a number of seafood restaurants. For the non-calorie counters, the world famous Johan's Bakery is right across the street from our hotel!

Surfing Tamarindo, once a secret spot among the surfing elite, has become a world famous surfing destination since the filming of "Endless Summer II". Tamarindo has been blessed by consistent swells and off-shore conditions. From most rooms, surfers can watch the waves of the Tamarindo River mouth peeling. There are excellent surf breaks within at short walk/paddle of the hotel. Secure board storage is also provided for our guests. Both the Owner and Manager of the hotel are avid surfers and will help you plan your safari to the many great breaks in and around the Tamarindo area (Langosta, Playa Grande, Playa Avellanas, Playa Negra, Witches Rock & Ollie's Point, Little Hawaii). For long boarders, the hotel has built 10 foot tall closets in the Corona & Deluxe Suites to accommodate your big stick! Coming this season, we are proud to present the new the Surf Patti Surfing Information Desk. She will provide the latest surfing information and maps to the breaks as well as assist you in planning tours and surf trips.

Sports fishing The waters off Tamarindo are renowned for their world-class sports fishing. They boast a year round season. Tamarindo waters are teeming with Marlin, Sailfish, Wahoo, Dorado, big tuna and swordfish. Whether you charter a small "panga" for a few hours or a modern fully rigged cabin cruiser for several days, the friendly staff at Tamarindo Vista Villas will assist you in arranging the sports fishing vacation of your dreams, customized to your tastes and budget. Most of our sports fishing guests put fresh tuna or Mahi Mahi on their table every day.

Diving & Snorkeling There are several reefs located close to Tamarindo. Local guides will take you to unspoiled diving and/or snorkeling destinations with abundant and varied fish and reef life. There are several excellent dive spots within a short boat ride from the hotel.

Golf Golf has come to Tamarindo in a big way. There are now two eighteen hole golf courses to choose from within a 30 minute drive from the hotel. You can rent clubs at either one.

Horseback Riding Imagine...you are with someone you love. You are riding your horses down an endless beach deserted beach. The surf gently ebbs and flows below you, reflecting the pastel splendor of the dazzling Tamarindo sunset. Once again, you reflect how wonderful it is to finally have found a place where you can relax, where you can simply be... For those of you who would love to rise on horseback through the lush tropical jungle in search of Howler monkeys, this guided tour provided by the hotel is not to be missed! Tamarindo Estuary Our staff will assist you in chartering a small boat to tour the Tamarindo Estuary wildlife preserve. Here you will be treated to an unspoiled and untouched primary mangrove eco-system. You will probably see a variety of birds, monkeys, Cayman and crocodiles.

Giant Leather back Turtles Playa Grande is the largest remaining nesting area of the giant Leather back turtle. Nesting season runs from October to February. Our staff will be happy to arrange a turtle tour with a skilled guide. The beach has been dedicated as a national wildlife preserve to allow this million year old ritual of nature to continue without the hindrance of human encroachment. On the tour, you can observe one of the greatest spectacles of nature. It is nothing short of inspirational to watch the slow methodical dance of these gentle giants as they drag themselves up the beach with great exertion. They then proceed to dig a four foot deep hole in the sand with their fins, into which they deposit their eggs. This is a very special experience and should not be missed if you are planning to visit between these months.

The villa can comfortable sleep one couple and two singles.

Imperial Suite - Ocean & sunset views from this room. Three bedroom, two bathroom villa (1250 square feet), living room, dining area, queen size beds in two private bedrooms and two single beds in third private bedroom, two single sofa day beds in living room. TV & VCR (no cable), telephone, A/C and ceiling fans, in room safe, huge double patio. Full kitchen with refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee maker, pots & pans, and utensils. The villa can comfortably sleep two couple and four singles.

Bavaria Suite - Three bedroom, one bath Villa (950 square feet) complete with living room, breakfast bar, microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, Cable TV and air-conditioned. The Villa can comfortably sleep 8 with two guests per private bedroom (either a couple or 2 singles can be accommodated in each of the bedrooms) and two in the living room on the single sofa beds. The Bavaria suite has its own private veranda complete with hammocks. Please note that the Bavaria suite does not have an ocean view.
