CONVERSA & COLLEGE CONSORTIUM
FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDIES
CREDIT INFORMATION SHEET
Students who wish to receive college credit at Conversa may apply through Miami-Dade Community College (a College Consortium for International Studies member). Our Super-Intensive Program in Santa Ana and our AM. Intensive Program in San Jose are facilitated through our CCIS sponsor, Miami-Dade Community College.
Students can earn 6 - 7 credits (depending on level) either in the Santa Ana or the San Jose Program. The credit criteria are fifteen classroom hours per semester credit unit. You should also make this information available to your study abroad advisor to facilitate the process.
You must apply through Miami-Dade Community College before coming to Conversa, and you must take a full four-week program and only on the established cycle dates. There is a charge for this service. For students taking Upper Division Credit*, the transcripts are issued by Truman State University in Missouri, and for those taking Lower Division Credit**, the transcripts are issued by Miami-Dade Community College.
* UPPER DIVISION CREDIT: Junior and Senior years (i.e. four year institution)
** LOWER DIVISION CREDIT: Freshman and Sophomore years (i.e. community college)
