Costa Rica’s central Pacific coast has long been known for its world-class Sailfish, Marlin, Yellowfin Tuna and Dorado (Mahi-Mahi) Sportfishing. We catch and release hundreds of billfish each year!!

Our 44-ft Striker yacht is probably the most comfortable fishing yacht in Costa Rica. The “Resourceful” is professionally equipped with a full complement of electronics, Penn International reels, the finest rods & tackle, and a dedicated, experienced crew.

With a kitchen, sitting area, bathroom, and spacious salon, this is truly fishing in style! And within a few minutes, you’ll be fishing some of the World’s most productive waters for Pacific Sailfish, Blue Marlin, Yellowfin Tuna, Dorado and Wahoo.

Our prime fishing season is December- May, with the peak months being January, February and March. But we catch fish year-round because the Gulf of Nicoya is a magnet for many different species of baitfish. The prime fishing season is also the dry season, so the seas are generally calm December – May. Our waters teem with whales, dolphins, turtles, manta rays, and many other species of marine life throughout the year.

We participate in the Billfish catch-and-release program. But you can keep your Dorado, Tuna and Wahoo, and have the chefs at Hotel Punta Leona cook them to your preference!

Sportfishing prices:
Sportfishing Charter (max. of 6 fishermen)$1,090/day
Non-Charter (min. 4, max. 6)$185/person/day
Non-fishing Passengers (max. of 6)$65/person/day
Fishing Licenses (valid for 1 year)$20/person

Because we are only 90 minutes from San Jose, we are the only company offering a 1-day Sportfishing trip from San Jose. We pick you up at any San Jose Hotel, transfer you to Hotel Punta Leona, go fishing, and then take you back to San Jose the same day!!!

Sportfishing from San Jose (min. 4, max. 6) - $ 235/person/day
(includes round trip transfers from San Jose, light breakfast, lunch, all equipment, bait, tackle, gear, fishing licenses & refreshments. This is NOT a charter rate!)
