- 8 AM - Breakfast at mountain lodge and a stop at coffee fields At the foothills of the Poás Volcano stop for a delicious breakfast at a beautiful mountain lodge, surrounded by coffee fields, tropical gardens and spectacular views of Costa Rica's Central Valley. We'll stop during breakfast at a coffee farm nestled in the heart of some of the most fertile farmlands in Central America. |

- 9 AM - Walk thru the cloud forest and visit the Poas Volcano crater On the cool summit of the Poas Volcano at 2700 mts. (9000 ft.) walk through an exuberant, primeval cloud forest. After a short walk through the forest, witness one of the largest most spectacular active craters in the world, with its awesome variety of colors, surrounded by lush vegetation and treasuring a steaming, sulfur lagoon at its center. |

- 12:00 - Stop at waterfalls and drive through Caribbean plain Continue on a lovely route past
high volcanic edifices, through deep canyons, jungles and streams,
stopping for photos at the beautiful La Paz Waterfall followed by a
coffee break at a Hummingbird Gallery overlooking the impressive 250
ft. high San Fernando Waterfall. |

- 1PM - Lunch at Selva Verde Jungle Lodge Stop for a delicious lunch at Selva Verde Lodge, one of the most beautiful jungle lodges in Costa Rica, surrounded by colorful gardens and jungles, where you'll also have a chance to enjoy a pleasant walk through the rainforest trails or to relax and spend some time on your own. - 2.30 PM - Sarapiquí jungle river safari and later Get a glimpse of the costarican way of life We'll, board a comfortable covered boat and gently float down the beautiful Sarapiquí River on the lookout for iguanas, monkeys, crocodiles, sloths, turtles, and colorful birds while intimately experiencing the impressive biological diversity of the rainforest that thrives along the banks of the river. Also get a glimpse at the way of life of the Costa Ricans in this remote area near Nicaragua as you drift past picturesque jungle homes, dugout canoes, banana plantations, children playing in the river or natives fishing along the banks. |

- 4pm - Braulio Carrillo National Park Return to San Jose through the deep jungles of Braulio Carrillo National Park, a protected area of almost 500 square kms. of towering mountains and virgin tropical forests traveling along one of the most spectacular jungle roads of Costa Rica.

| Transportation:
We use 10, 25 or 40 passenger newer model vans or
buses all with air conditioning.
What to bring: The volcano is sometimes cold so bring a sweater or jacket - It can rain in the rainforest so take an umbrella or a poncho - Wear comfortable walking shoes - The river can be warm and humid so wear light clothing - Insect repellant is not necessary - Bottled water is available throughout the tour route - Binoculars and camera are recommended. Departure: We leave every day from the San Jose area picking up at most major hotels and some Bed and Breakfasts in and around San Jose |
