Terms and conditions for Alamo car rentals in Costa Rica

Reservations
Cars should be confirmed by category only. Alamo won't confirm a specific model or brand name of car. Previously 24 hours reservation is required and confirmation will be subject to availability at the time of reservation.
Rates
Rates are in US dollars. Driver license and passports should be physically presented at the time of rental. Free mileage is included. Collision Damage Waiver (C.D.W.) and Third Party Damages (T.P.I) are mandatory. Rates don't include insurance, deposit, gas, additional driver rate, under-25 driver's rate, other protection options, etc. Weekly rates will apply to 6 or 7 days rents.
Age and additional drivers
The renter should be at least 21 years of age and all drivers licenses and passports should be physically presented. Maximum age is 75. An additional charge of US$20 per day apply to under-25 drivers. Any additional drivers should pay a charge of US$3.00 per day.
Payments
Customers should present a credit card (VISA, MasterCard, Dinners Club International, or American Express ) with a minimum of US$1000.00 available for deposit, also passport and driver license of their country. Cash deposits are not allowed.
One-way rentals
There is an additional charge if the car is delivered at a different Alamo office than where the car was rented. Cars may be driven only in Costa Rica. Alamo offers shuttle service between the International Airport of San José and its Alajuela office and the International Airport of Liberia and its office of Liberia.
Fuel
Every customer will receive their car with a full tank of fuel and be given the option to either return their car with a full tank of fuel or to purchase the fuel up-front. Return the car with a full tank: Customer should fill the tank of fuel by themselves or they can fill the tank through Alamo. If the car is not returned with a full tank of fuel they will be charged a premium to refill the tank.
Prepaid: Customers can purchase a full tank of fuel at the time of rental (un-used fuel won't be charge back).
Child Safety Seat/Infant Seat
Four years old or younger children should use a child safety seat. Alamo offers child safety seats according with availability for US$1.50 per day. Please request at time of booking car, but you can also request one at the counter. Subject to availability.
