 During this journey we have the opportunity to sample one of Nicaragua’s wildest regions: the San Juan River basin. Our first stop is the frontier trading town San Carlos. From there we move by river to the 400 year-old Spanish fort ‘El Castillo’.
The highlights of this river journey will be our canoe and walking tour of the sector. Its lush rainforest is without parallel in Nicaragua. Birdwatching is also tremendous here. The refuge where you will stay is designed to receive groups of biologists from all over the world. Your local-guide will share with you his/her knowledge of this and the surrounding Indio-Mais reserve. It’s one of the most diverse in Central America. |
