Costa Rica Airports (San Jose and Liberia) Flight Info Update for July 20, 2020

Latest Costa Rica flight info into and out of San Jose (SJO) and Liberia (LIR), Costa Rica during the coronavirus pandemic.

More airlines have confirmed dates for restarting operations to San Jose, Costa Rica. Please find below the official Costa Rica flight information coming out of San Jose’s Juan Santamaria Airport as of July 20, 2020.

A handful of airlines have also given restart dates for Liberia (LIR) Airport in Guanacaste, although info here is still very thin on the ground.

As COVID-19 cases continue to rise, it’s still (very) possible that the government will push back the August 1 reopening to tourism date. However, as of today, this has not yet happened. Still, be prepared for everything to change on a dime. 

Aeroméxico: All operations suspended until further notice.

Air Canada: San Jose (SJO) operations to resume on September 1 to/from Toronto. Liberia (LIR) operations to resume to/from Toronto on December 15 and to/from Montreal on December 18.

Air France: San Jose (SJO) operations to resume on October 14. Repatriation/rescue flight arriving from Paris on July 22. Returning to Paris on July 24.

Air Panama: All operations suspended until further notice.

Air Transat: All operations suspended until further notice.

Alaska: San Jose (SJO) operations to resume on August 3 to/from Los Angeles. 

Albatros Airlines: All operations suspended until further notice.

American Airlines: San Jose (SJO) operations to resume on August 5 to/from Miami and Dallas. 

Avianca: San Jose (SJO) operations to resume October 1 to/from Bogota.

British Airways: San Jose (SJO) operations to resume on October 11 to/from London.

Condor: Information still pending from airline.

Costa Rica Green Airways (domestic airline): Available for private charter internal charter flights.

Copa Airlines: San Jose (SJO) operations to resume on August 6 to/from Panama City.

Delta Airlines: San Jose (SJO) operations to resume on August 17 to/from Atlanta.

Edelweiss: San Jose (SJO) operations to resume on August 6 to/from Zurich.

Iberia: San Jose (SJO) operations to resume on August 3 to/from Madrid. Repatriation/rescue flight arriving from Madrid on July 31. Returning to Madrid on August 1.

Interjet: Operations to resume August 2 to/from Mexico City.

JetBlue: All operations suspended until further notice.

KLM: All operations suspended until further notice.

Latam: Information still pending from airline.

Lufthansa: Operations to resume August 1 to/from Frankfurt.

Sansa (domestic airline): Information still pending from airline.

Skyway (domestic airline): Information still pending from airline.

Southwest: Operations to resume in 2021.

Spirit: Information still pending from the airline. Repatriation/rescue flights to Fort Lauderdale on July 22 and July 29.

United: Rescue/repatriation flights to/from Houston on July 10, and then daily (Mon-Fri only) through the remainder of July. (There are also repatriation flights between Liberia (LIR) Airport in Guanacaste and Houston every Friday in July.)

Volaris: All operations suspended until further notice.

WestJet: All operations suspended until further notice.

Wingo: Operations to resume September 1 to/from Panama City and Bogota.
