Belize Independence Day 2022

Belize Independence Day 2023: Happy 42nd Birthday, Belize!

As Belize celebrates its 42nd year of independence, we celebrate with our favorite images taken over the past year of the country affectionately called “The Jewel”. Happy Belize Independence Day!

Happy 42nd, Belize! We hope you’re enjoying your day. Every year, Belize comes up with a theme to their independence day celebrations, and this one is Hope Ignited, Hands United, Vision Renewed: Belize@42 (mustn’t forget the @ sign as a nod to the social media age).

Last year’s theme (The Valiant and Bold, Proud and Strong) was all about Belize picking itself up and dusting itself down after the pandemic and this year’s theme takes that further. It’s about Belize finding the post-pandemic light at the end of the tunnel and moving into a new era, full of hope that a unified country can move forward together and rebuild. There are still problems, for course. The pandemic knocked the stuffing out of the country, economically, and the unending cost of living crisis affects Belize in a big way. There’s lots of work to do.

But forget all that for now. At least for today.

Today is about Belize enjoying itself. If you’re in Belize, get out there today and enjoy the parades, parties, and celebrations.

And as for us, we’ll celebrate in the only way we know how, by highlighting the beauty of Belize, with the top images of the past year from our Instagram feed. It’s not much, but it’s something. Below, please find ten of our most popular images and videos (mostly videos) of Belize posted on our Instagram account between September 21, 2022 and today.

We hope you like these images and we hope you can see, if you’re not in Belize, just how beautiful the country is, and how much it’s worth a visit between now and the next Independence day. And if you are in Belize, well, you already know:

Again, we wish a wonderful Independence Day to Belize and Belizeans everywhere.

Happy Independence day to Julian Transfer Tours, Jon J. Foy, Authentically Belize, Belize Places, and all the other Belize content creators out there doing their bit to showcase their country.
