Costa Rica flight information update: Latest weekly update for flight/airline info into and out of Costa Rica during the coronavirus pandemic as of October 28, 2020.
The first Iberia flight from Madrid arrived on August 3. Since then, Lufthansa, United Airlines, American Airlines, Spirit, Copa, and Aeromexico have also restarted operations, albeit limited. Domestic airline Sansa is also flying again. You’ll see these airlines in bold. We’ll keep updating this list on a weekly basis until everything is in bold.
Avianca, British Airways, KLM, and Wingo have all made changes since last week.
Avianca took their Panama City route off the table (for now), British Airways pushed their restart date back to December, KLM brought their restart date forward to November, and Wingo announced their November restart date.
Last week, Costa Rica dropped the COVID test requirement for arriving passengers. This went into effect on Monday, October 26. Some airlines, however (we’re hearing about American and Spirit) still require passengers to present a negative COVID test and are refusing boarding to those who don’t. Please bear this in mind and check with your airline.
More airline confusion over Costa Rica COVID tests: Since Oct 26, travelers to Costa Rica no longer need a COVID-19 test. Some airlines haven’t yet got the memo. #costarica #costaricatravel #covidtest https://t.co/CNhIsmuQOD
